Just got a freebe ASAHI 23 channel mobile just wondering if anyone has heard of this radio??

It dosn't show up on any site I normaly find them on. During the CB craze of 1975-79 hunderdes of makers of CB radios exsisted 99% of which are no longer building radios.
See if it has a valid FCC number on the medal tag sometimes you can track them that way.

It's what we called a "Walgreens Radio" back in the mi-70's. It was a low-ball brand that only showed up in retail stores that had NEVER sold a CB radio before the big CB craze drove up demand.
If it's the radio I'm thinking of, it has only three knobs and a silver face. Was also sold with name stickers that said "Alan" and "Beta".
Not much good as a radio. Couldn't use a power mike, and it would squeal if you tried to turn down the transmitter carrier. A 23-channel radio did not have to include any of the RF filtering components that a 40-channel must have in it.
And the performance showed it. Mag-mount antennas would also cause a bad RF-feedback squeal with either a power mike or the stock one.
They can't make them like that any more. Not legally.

Back in the mid 70s, I had seen them in closeout bargain stores and new in the box at flea markets. As I remember they didn't sell very well. Sold for $15.00-$25.00 on closeout. Several types of stores sold them. They were just your basic cheap 23 channel CB radio.
