Hi there,

I have a stock Cobra 2000gtl.

The dead key is 4w out. I notice that it flutters up and down alittle, basically not stable and its starting to really bug me.. Also, the mod meter moves a touch up and down when I key, and turn down the mic gain all the way.

There must be a part or setting or such that is causing this radio to somewhat "osciallate" or something. The freq. counter is dead on and matches a external freq. counter.

Any help or ideas of why this radio is not putting a stable dead key would be greatly appreciated.

Its even more noticable when you turn on a amp. It fluxuates even more. Must be a bad cap or something somewhere that is causing this???

My stock Cobra 2000gtl dead key is set at 4watts, and it seems to fluxuate up and down and wiggle on the meter, about 1/4 watt up and down in each direction.

Also, the mod meter shows a touch of noise or something, its there when I turn the mic gain all the way down. On air reports say that the carrier with the mic down all the way down sounds like a light "wind noise", like if I was in the mobile or something.

There must be a bad cap or part need replacement or something needs adjustement or such.

Any help on this matter please let me know!

Thanks!
