Anyone here in central Fl know of anyone who likes to climb and could lend a hand? I have an old Maco Shooting Star I need someone to take down so I can reset it for 10M and put it back up. It is up about 55ft on a tower. I don't like heights and with my hip it is hard to climb. Like most of us I am a ham on a budget so a bucket truck is out of the question. Give me a shout.

Your maco is tuned to 11 meters ,you should be able to use it on 10 meters with a good tuner with fairly good results.I used to have a 10 meter yagi that I used on 11 meters with a tuner and it worked just fine.

I have a Serio 4 element beam that was made for 11 meter.
For around $150.00 get you a LDG Autotuner and hook it up to the 10 meter rig and it will tune in in with good swr and will also do the some for the 11 meter too
The LDG Z-100 Autotuner will tune from 1.8 to 54 MHz.
So with that said 10 meters is 28 MHz and 11 meter (CB)is 27 MHz so you can both 10 and 11 meters fall inbetween the range.
So for around $150.00 and the fast way to go you be all set to go.

Just to add a note on this one,with any directional antenna the further you move away from the design frequency you will see a difference in the gain and the front to back ratio and the front to side ratio,how much difference remains to be seen.I personally would not worry too much about it.As Starface said you could try an auto tuner or try a manual tuner and set the tuner for 10 meters and when on 11 meters put the tuner on bypass, either way it should workout just fine,remember it will be another year or so till the next cycle starts to pick up giving you lots of time to experiment
