wont rx weak signals. (changed audio chip an 220uf 10v cap to 220uf 35v.Did v. check on chip per info. has hum in spk. an squelch pop in spk when turning knob.)If another radio is close,no problem.

try the regulator right side torward the back,i believe it says d1135 and also change the diode d-60 to a 18.2v diode andput the old ones across leg 1 and 2 od the regulator.common problem with early model 142 gtl.

ok now i got some where,unsolder the black ground wire from the power supply,put it through a hole in the chassis,and solder it to the negitive leg of c-304. that will stop that completely. both of these messages are fixes from factory mess ups in the earlyer 142 gtl's
