mic gain..why?i never use/adsjust it i set it
wide open and forget that knob exsists.crank the
vr inside the radio for modulation wide open
and should be fine.if your trying to run a power
mic start with gain on power mic all way down
sliowly raising it until ya reach your perfered
audio level.not to mention keeping a power mic ran low helps keep back ground noise to a minuim

i like to keep my mic gain partially up, as i run a d104 desk mic and used the radio as a base radio before i traded it late last night. still would like to know the mod for this tho if anyone has it. |

sorry i dont know the mod.but again just keep
your d104 turned down and ya be fine.actually by turning down your mic gain your actually detuning your radio.if this domnt work the
way id set it up then go inside the radio
asnd turn down the vr just a little.mike gain
imho isnt needed.just look at a 2510.awsome radio
no mic gain

I asked for the mod to add rf gain to mine a few months ago, but not the mic gain, Dale has the answer, use and ajustable external mic, desk mic, I use a cobra dynamic plus on mine and have for 3 yrs, It works great, Keep the radio as it is, and just add a desk mic, No more holding the hand mic and at night, when all are sleeping, well, turn it up just a bit and talk lower, It works perfict for me, try it out ive been pleased, oh and not to mention, the mic is not expensive, look on the good ole auction site and pick one up for 20 bucks, I know the listing is a month old but still, it is only my 2 cents worth, I wont ask for change either.
