Fellas- As of today, with no changes in radio output, moving of connections, etc...I have a sagging output in my KLV 550. I have run in bypass with no change in output from exciter (15 watts in and steady)...very steady and constant according to meter. My group on SSB notices a drop in power when I see it with the KLV on. On low I usually see about 150pep....and I do also from the start of use (150)...then 100..then 70...then 50. So some of you solid state guys gimme a clue. Do I have a final going? A cap? Any help would be appreciated. P.S. No smoke, no smell of anything bad...no overheating. I have always babied this amp.--73

Did you check it into a dummy load or through the antenna?
If you check the output through a dummy load and there is no drop off the coax or antenna may not be holding the load up and the wattage maybe leaking off.
You may need to check this first.
Hope this is of help.

Yeah I did check with a dummy load. Same scenerio. But it seems like after the chassis warms up a bit, no problems. Something must be getting ready to go. Not sure. Thanks for the post tho--
