i have a 1 tube 8417 RM amp and it works great except when it is inline the receive is lower with it hooked up and if i got it on standbye the radio also shows lower output.its like something is resricting the receive and power out put when it is inline.i can take it out of line and everything is great.shows a good swr while inline.

Not really sure about your problem but on my old AfterBurner 2 tuber the receive drops out a bit unless I use the receiver preamp. I figure it must be just the aging of particular componets inside the amp causing the undesired performance.
