i recently received a 300-a from a friend, practically new condition, and the tubes all tested ok at the local shop, the problem therein is it backswings after transmit to 0, for instance, after tuning the amp and saying Auuuuudio, it swings to around 550-600, then drops to 0 before it regains the same carrier. it doesent get hot or anything. anyone ever had this issue? i have more than one transformer and another marked set of tubes. any ideas?
another friend on the radio claims to have had a similar problem fixed by replacing one of the smaller caps next to the large ones. any extra info would be a big help :3 |

One of the tech's could tell you---"Backwards Swing" or "Reverse Modulation"---isn't that usually either be a sign of a power supply problem (lack of adequate Voltage/Amperage) or "over-driving" the amplifier (too much input wattage/deadkey)? Saw this unanswered, thought I'd post. |
