mrsandman, while mobile last saturday late afternoon during the arrl contest, i made contact on 28.400 with a station in MA down here in south shore of central long island. he was barely moving my S-meter, and had a HARD time copying me, 50 watts from a magnum 257.....but it is possible! also have made more then a few contacts on both 10 & 6 meter SSB into MA! also spoken with CEF662 in cape cod form both my base and my mobile on AM & SSB 11 meters! scatter/tropo mostly with at least 1 straight trip 90 miles from montauk point. yes, i have 28.360 on during the weekends.
