I am looking for a mobile CB (not export) that has the most effective NB / ANL circuit .

I drive thru a lot of very noisy areas and need to reduce the noise as much as possible.

So what is the mobile CB with the best NB-ANL ?.
(no exports)

78xl i would also say is the nb is great. i have not tried galaxy CB at all only had galaxy export radios.
getting back to the point 78 xl is great cb to start with its a grant XL with out ssb and more swing and just a little louder.. some people thought i had a sp1 or power mike on it and its just the stock mike believe me its a great mike i added 2oz of lead inside to make feel like a real mike r for the money a 78 xl you cant loose simple peek and tune
drop dead key to 3 watts and turn up mod and that radio will be loud .if u have a amp drop the dead key no lower than 2 watts for a low drive amp and if no amp set it at 5 watts and you will still have 3-4 watts of rms swing . from 2-5 dead key when talk don't yell fourrrrrrrr lol the radio will hang at 16 to 20 pep watts if done right.. one more thing get a good 12ga power cord don't use the stock one its junk, one more thing if someone tell you they can get 45-50 watts
out that radio run fast
don't let someone hack your radio
i hold a 78xl 1 step above old cobra 25 -29 and
uniden 76. i have done key downs with my 78xl and beat so called fifty watt radios and won and they had there antenna's set the right way. but they let someone get fake watts out of there radio. ill take take 3 watts of rms swing over 40 watts of pep any day. good luck

All of the old Cobra 148's and the Grant XL's have fantastic noise suppression. Far better than any of my ham radios, some that I've paid over 1K $$ for. I don't have any of the new CB radios and can't comment, but if you are like me and like stock cb's just find one of these decade old rigs that have not been hacked and you will love it. I've got 2 or 3 148's and a Grant XL, and a 2000 GTL. All quality rigs and the perform very well. By the way there is a cycle 24 sunspot just starting to form, maybe we are finally on our way to some good propagation. cheers sb106.

My personal opinion I always felt that Unidens had noisy receivers out of box. I have been impressed with Cobras old and new for anl/nb especially ones that have been tweeked by a pro. The Cobra soundtrackers knocked out lots of noise but are more like receive blankers only picking up the strongest signals. The Galaxy 959 I owned had a remarkable nb.
The biggest part of the whole noise issue is the vehicle and how well you install the radio and antenna. The quality of your coax and its connections is important as well.
Oh and if you drive a Ford I feel for you. I always know when a Ford is coming down the street when I have my radio on.
Finally even my S-9 and Connex 4800 get noisy at times, they are usually noise free with out any anl/nb!
Its just the nature of the cb radio, got to get used to it.

It will make for a very nice receiving Uniden Grant! Why would'nt they just do it like that from the factory?
Many cber's have no idea not realizing what they are missing when it comes to the differences in receiver quality in radios.

Mine went from .4 to .2 UV ( readable ... AKA where it goes into the noise ) on a shop IFR 1200 Generator on SSB. My Lamlin shows simular gains With no other changes a 6 db increase in receiver gain with no increase in the noise floor. For a under $1 part worth the time.

My guess is that the 2sc1674 is just CHEAPER.
