Truck #1: I have an Xforce 600HD straight 6 pill and an X-80 used as a driver.....that is in my 2008 Chevy Silverado using a Wilson 5000 magnetic mount. SWR....1.1 on 20 and 1.2 on 1 and 40.
Truck #2: 2000 GMC Sierra with a Davemade 4 pill driven by a Davemade M80. Antenna is a Predator 10K on a Davemade roof top puck mount. SWR is flat as a pancake.
So far all appears normal.....jumper lengths are identical in both installations and meters (remote Palstars).
Now if I swap the amps out of one into the other the SWR on the Silverado with the magnet mount is high at certain wattages and flat at others.....mostly bad. The Sierra can run all the amps with flat SWRs.
Are magnet mounts known to be flakey? I have not experimented with jumpers but I would love to know what the heck is going on.

If your output is 1 watt or 1 kilowatt the SWR is going to be the same all the time.
It is possible that the magnet mount and its inferior coax could be the cause of the false meter readings. Especially with the big amp.
So many possible problems. I would start with trying out the Predator and puck mount on the Silverado and see what you get.

are you swapping the x80 & m80 also, or just the 4 & 6 pills?
you say you're using 'remote palstars'-wm150r? you mean you see 'high reflect' on the mag mount with the dave box? HOW HIGH? how is the remote unit connected to the 1st amp? i had problems INSIDE the remote unit & needed to replace the wire to the so239. i usually use a double male connector to attach the remote unit to the amp, but have noticed on my big dave setup, it just won't work without 9' or so of 9013. i'd also toss the wilson mag mount....if you MUST run a wilson, get a center loaded trucker antenna & put it on a mount that will allow you to change the coax. i use a triple mag mount with 9013 & can run a LOT without causing rfi to the trucks electronics('99 computer controlled durango).

8 magnets on an older carbureted, non-computer suburban with sufficient current provided produces 3kw+ carrier & 10kw+ PEP from 3x8x32 2879's, & many DC-sky keydown wins & talks DX with the best of 'em.
why magnets with THAT much power? just because......
