get a couple small, thin computer-type fans. stuff a few plastic molys into the fins & attach the fans. i've done that on texas star amps, S9, omega force, ar3500, ic706mk2g of my own, done on other peoples amps & radios & suggested that approach to others. if you get a fan or 2 that move enough air, you'll be good!
a couple things to check-are SWR's LOW, say under 1.5:1? high swr will cause radio to run hot. also, check output. 2x2290 a should have max carrier of 40 watts & PEP of 160. you CAN probably get them up to 100 carrier & 200+ PEP at the expense of transistors due to excessive heat. back it down some, 200 down to 150-160 will NEVER see any difference at other end, and any more then 40 watts carrier is just waiting for smoke. if you're on the high end, lowering it will cool it some too.
