Here we go .I got a 142 gtl it worked great was sent to Delaware and was done up with extras but now on am its still dead keying around 8 watts and receives fine but after a few minuets no transmit of audio on AM and on ssb its moves the modulation meter a hair but no voice its getting threw . so i guess I am trying to say is there is no modulation and seems to have a back swing in power when there is some audio getting threw

sounds like they overtuned the power
or turned the vrs that adjust your meters
on the radio.i suggest hooking up your radio
to a external meter and dummyload and check
like that.also what mike ya using?if mike
is unamplifed youll probaly need to run mic gain
wide open.that 8 watt carrier was that seen with
a external meter.weres mic gain set.need little

well last night I noticed vr7 was burned open so I jumped across what was left and on ssb I get no audio but when I key the mic it pules . I got a print now so I can look to see whats in line with it some thing must be shoted to burn out a VR ..I was useing a dosy meter with mic open an closed it makes no differnce on am no audio getting threw in eather mode .

well sounds like a serious problem.i was hoping
for a simple soluation..lol.hopfully someone
else will chime in that can help more
