I just purchaced a used Uniden pc 78 xl mobile and I like it alot ! The radio did not come with an instruction manual so I do not understand the "Dynamic Squelch Control" switch.

When I turn the DSC 'on' it doesn't seem to do anything that the regular squelch knob already does.

So what is this DSC all about and what makes it different from regular squelch?

and... can it be adjusted inside the radio at all?(what component)

Thanks for your help.

Uniden's DSC is kind of like Cobra's Soundtracker. Don't know if its any better or worse than soundtracker.
Supposed to clean up the receive so you can hear better but from what I can tell it kind of narrows up or de-tunes the receiver giving a pinched sound. Really only works for strong signals.
KEEP IT REAL!
