i have 3 s-9's cant get enough of them well i just ordered a 667v ts will the audio in the s9 destroy the ts667v or will i be fine thanks

a dx500 would have been the better choice. turn rf power on S9 down til amp keys 125 watts or so, then turn mic gain up til amp shows about 500 PEP. when you turn amp off & check radio, you'll probably see radio dead keying around 3 watts & swinging 12-15. |

i called copper and they are the ones that told me to go with the 667v, all tho the 500 would have been a better choice, i should be good with the radio's variable down i am actully running a killer bee 250 with it and dose good i just dont want to blow away 400 plus buck thanks for the info just wanted to be sure

hopefully you have everything on the radio down for the dx250, too. adjust radio rf power til 250 dead keys about 40-50 watts & adjust mic gain til amp swings to 160-175, & it should be just fine with the S9.
dx250 & 667 are not recommended for use with the S9 even though they can work, because some folks may feel they just need 'a few extra watts' & turn the radio up too high. sooner or later the transistors in the amp go POOF. if they can restrain themselves, they'll be fine. when 60+ watt radios started flooding the market, i had a few problems with people blowing up their 2-4 transistor amps because they cranked the radio all the way. expensive lesson. |
