My dream setup! Man I am really pleased with the performance I am getting in the mobile. Connex 4800,Texas Star DX 500, Predator 10k.
What I am working on now is getting the skip talking base setup going. Been buying an S-9 for a year now. So many money flow set backs, but finally now that its tax refund time I do see an S-9 in my future. Already have a DX500 setup for the base with an Imax.
What would REALLY be a dream come true for me would be a very high qaulity antenna up so darn high it disappears in the clouds!

May all your good dreams come true to all of you!

I have a special radio in my dreams that has one little button its marked on the rig I S .

Not shur what I S ? so i go to the operating manual and start reading it says:

This radio has a host of convenience and features the ( I S ) button to make it more efficient and enjoyable.

(Procedure) Go to the Dial tune to channel or frequency - If you have silence or background noise check to make shur antenna hooked up and have low swr.

Now you can try transmit -(Give your id or call) Still no luck? Hit reset button and try again.

If you have no receivable conditions you have to push the (I S) button to the left of the on and off switch.

This is my Dream radio ---Love to have one!
Opps I bet your wondering what is a I S switch is??????????

Its Called a INSTANT SKIP switch.

Dream a little Dream

73 Hope of your good dreams come true!

An all mode , all band rig that includes the 220 MHz band with IF stage DSP. This rig would have the mic gain and the rf power on knobs up front, not buried in a menu. Lastly it would have an analog S-meter. 100 watts out too would be just fine. Oh, since it would be a fixed station it should have an internal power supply as well as dc operation capability. Under $1000.00. cheers, sb106

I want the taky-est looking radio ever with the latest array of useless bells and whistles gadgets!

Gold knobs , chrome trim ,knobs that light up, chrome diamond-plate covers, some sort of stupid picture on the face-plate that GLOWS in the dark!

And this radio must have overly-hyped up features like,

Super-sonic-ultra-supercharged-twin-turbo-megadrive-boost-O-riffic-atomic-hyperdrive-magna-power-dynadrive-MODULATION !!!! IN STEREO !!!

On second thought , maybe not.

I saw a tower in the middle of the desert in AZ.
This thing was like "Jack and the beenstalk".
There were many mobile homes nearby.
I always wonder about living there, and sneaking out one night with a A,99 plus ground plane kit, and a mile of coax.
To that I would conect a Ranger Rci-2995 DX 10/12 meter radio with a sweet 16 kicker and A Astatic 600, swr, power, modulation, meter handles up to 5kw and a Galaxy echo-talk lock desck mic

A rig that ciovers dc to daylingt - really is not a good idea. If it fails you are off all bands/frequencies..

Having said that I still want to replace my ol IC-706 that went to a better cause (paying INS Immigration fees some 6 years back and still not replaced)..

Ft-840 ..... Love them .
I was on mine on 75, 40, 20 and 17 this morning.
They are now history replaced by the FT-450 ....
Its just a solid little radio and Yaesu's largest mistake when they stopped making them
On 6 since 66

The best radio with the best receiver was the FT102,best RX ever made, 3 6146's with the matching vfo,it had relay issues but I have never had another radio that had a RX like that.I currently have a FT 920 that does all that I want but I still miss my old FT102 for superb RX.
