I have puchased a amplifier and the only thing on it is this: on the front: Modulation Plus 5350 AB-1 I am just wondering if anyone has heard of one of these? if theese amps are any good? It has a rec amp switch and am and fm mode as well as ssb. It also has a low,med,hi, and max switch. Thank you for getting back to me. |

take pics of the inside if you can....otherwise, open it anyway & see how many of what type transistor's it has inside..... |

Okay here it goes for the picture. I have taken 4 but when I try to upload them it says that an error has occured. So what I will do is try to do the one of the inside first. Then will upload the rest . Like I said new to this so bear with me. Thanks. Scott |

Allright, getting a little ticked. I have the pictures but when i try to upload it says everytime it is over the limit of size.

Okay guys finally got around to getting the pictures to upload, I think. lol. Will check back to see if they ever did come out and what you guys think. Thank you to all who respond. Curious on the size of this amp and if anyone could possible tell me who would of made it how old stuff like that . |

I myself would like to see an answer to your question. I like the looks of it myself, a clean looking little amp. For my own curiousity I looked ALL OVER online and never could find it, nothing but stereo amplifiers came back because of the 5350 #. I spent 1-1/2 Hrs looking because it was bugging me, still no results.
With all the member's vast combined experience here on the Copper Forum, no one has seen this amplifier before and can identify its maker?
Scootter, what's inside the amplfier? I'm assuming it's transistorized? What type/number are they? It's only a few screws to take the lid off, is there any information stamped or labeled on the inside anywhere? |

Honest i doint know????
Iv seen many many amps 12 volt and 120 im skunked on this one. There was one made in England that looks a little bit like it. 300watt and ssb . I could be wrong! I cant ID it thats for shure! More info whould help?

I have uploaded a picture of the inside of it. It is the only picture that I have of it so I will check back to see if it gets uploaded and what comments are on it. Hope it will give some insight to what and how big and etc... Thanks guys for helping me and racking the noggins . Scott

appears to use the old style palomar switches, which were then used by boomer & fake-palomar later, the knob looks like what texas star uses, the heat sink resembles SOME old palomar-elite amps & the board looks like a decent homebrew/small production run 2x2290(probably). as with 99% of small transistor amps, it is probably just somebody's attempt to cash in on CBers desire for an amp. if it works, & puts out around 150 watts PEP, USE IT! |

Thank you to Tech 808 and Patzerozero. I do appreciate it. I know that when it was summer time out I tried to use it but couldnt get any one for a radio check. I know that the lights light up and that the pre amp works but said ah well will take it out and just try later. Never did . Now that snow is on the ground will have to wait till spring and try again . This time leave it in the car a little longer then a day lol. Pat..... how were the boomer and then the fake palomar amps???. Does it look or is there a way to tell how old this thing might be???. Thanks to all and Thank you to Tech 808 for posting the picture for me. |

what are ALL the #'s on the transistors? mrf454's & it's probably early 90's. 2290's were used over a longer time span. sd1446's are probably late 90's/early 00's....unless things were changed or taken from somebody's old stock. check the board for any markings.
original boomers were decent, later fake palomars were nothing more then typical 150 watt cb amps, neither spectacular nor unspectacular. just 'there'. |
