I have a Pro510XL that I bought new about 3yrs.ago,but haven`t done anything with until now.The board in it is marked 1999.The older tune-up books I got from Copper several years ago say for modulation to cut D14,for power L6,L5. None of these components are in this radio though.Does anyone have the current information?
Thanks,Freddie

MODULATION :
Cut D14
AM POWER: L6,L5
VR1: Squelch
VR2: TX meter
VR3: RX meter
VR4: RX IF gain

POWER TWEAKS :
1. Locate the 2.7 ohm resistor in front of the final bias resistor(15 Ohm w/RF bead) and change it to a .47 Ohm. (DO NOT change the 15 Ohm resistor!!)
2. Re-tune L9,L6,L5,L4 for maximum forward power.

Hope this is what you are after.
Regards,
Bob.

Fde, the newer Pro 510XL, don't have the same board that the book talks about. The book is Pre-1999. Uniden CHANGED THE RADIO

Sorry,guess I could.Clip D203 for modulation,L203 for power.All I did was clip D203,left the power alone.With a DM452 mic it seems to get out OK.

Thanks Fde. I wonder did you try the stock mic after clipping D203? Because the DM452 could be over driving the radio after clipping. Some radios do sound better with stock mic after modding.

I don't think there is any up to date books and cd's out. It seems new radios coming out so fast no one can keep up.

I have two of these and I am really impressed at how good these little units sound stock. Folks are constantly surprised that I am not using a power mic. Are you happy with how the radio performs after your mods?
