I have a Galaxy Saturn that seems to have a periodic transmit issue, lately. Every once in a while when I turn it on and go to key up, the RF power looks like where it's supposed to be. But then it seems to gradually diminish in power and audio to where only the transmit light shows up when I key up, but noone's recieving any kind of signal (audio/dead key) from the Saturn. Then after about 5-10 min. out of the blue, the Saturn decides to start transmitting like normal.
Any ideas as to what might cause this, would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like your maybe having a power supply problem if you have a volt meter you could check it and see if your voltage is dropping

I would have to agree with Derek460. Sounds like a problem with the power supply. It could also be the bridge rectifier. I had a Turbo that one day was doing good, then during a CEF net it went *POOF*. Sent it in an found out the rectifier went to heck. But like Derek said, if you have a volt meter, you can test it to see if it is failing.

If it could be the power supply, would the rest of the radio appear to be operating like normal? Like the freq. counter, channel display, and meter lights? Because that's what is happening (which I forgot to include in my 1st posting, sorry.)Not to mention I'm not really sure what the bridge rectifier is. Which is why I should leave that part up to the pros to check out, eh? lol

Also may want to check your mic. Look for a dirty connector.

What kind of mic are you using? could be a dirty connector, could be the battery in the mic moving around and losing connection{if it is a power mic}. Also if memory serves me correct there is a shiny plate that stands up on the board. It is held in by metal clips. The weird part is, it is NOT attached to the board. It just slides into those metal clips. I had a old galaxy ssb base that had an audio problem and we found it to be that plate. hope that helps

the "shiny plate" Tech565 is referring to is the driver and final bias jumper.had a similar problem with a roadtalker ssb and ended up soldering it in place.Vibration actually caused it to wear holes through the plating and acted like a resistor instead of a jumper.I've seen alot of different radios using the same setup.

I've used both my D-104 Silver Eagle and the Galaxy Saturn Stock mic, both with same results. So, I figure it's something inside the radio itself. I took it down to shop in PA this past Saturday and he had it on full power, keyed up for like 10-15 min. and it worked fine. Which I assumed it would make a liar out of me when I got there anyways, which it did. Since then, I think it's done it (1st post) once since then. But, I will take all your suggestions, and let him know what I learned about it, and see what he can do with it. I would like to take care of 'my baby' best I can, because it's a base station I've been wanting for some time now. And I just want to keep it going strong best I can. Thanks again, guys for your help & suggestions.
