I inquired about this amp a while back and had recieved a reply in regards to when it was made, late 70's,i got the schematic thru ken's electronics, NOW WHAT IM WONDERING IS IF ANY1 HAD THIS AMP IN THE PAST OR HAS 1,WHAT OUTPUT DO THEY RELAIZE, THIS AMP AFTER TUNED USING MY UNIDEN GRANT WHICH DEAD KEYS AT 2 WATTS,SWINGS TO AROUND 10 WATTS, MAKES THE AMP HIT THE 400 MARK ON THE DOSY, I TRIED USINT THIS AMP WITH MY VOYAGE WHICH HAS THE NPC MOD, I DEAD KEYED THE VOYAGE ON 4 WATTS SWINGING UP TO IN THE 20'S, THE WATT METER HIT 600 AFTER RETUNING IN BUT THEN BLEW THE 20 AMP FUSE IN THE AMP,I CHANGED THAT,SHE FIRED RIGHT BACK UP BUT I HAVE READ THESE OLDER AMPS LIKE A LOW DEAD KEY WITH LOWER SWING SO I USE IT WITH MY GRANT WHICH IS SET AT 2 WATTS AND ILL GET 400 OUT ONCE SHE'S STUNED IN, NICE SOLID AMP FROM YEARS GONE BY, NO SSB SWITCH,MINE STILL HAS THE CRYSTAL SOCKET ON THE FRONT OF AMP AND SAYS 15 METER CW TRANSMITTER, THE TUBES IN THE AMP ARE 4 6JG6 DRIVING 4 6LQ6, DOES THAT WATTAGE I MENTIONED/400 WATTS ON HIGH/ 150 ON LOW, SOUND ABOUT RIGHT FOR AN 8 TUBE BASE AMP ?

That wattage sounds about right to me. I have a 2 tube amp with those tubes and it does 200 watts.
Your right about low drive. Somewhere around 2 to 4 watts deadkey and a MAX of 20 watts PEP. Some tube amps need even less.
Remember back when all those tube amps were made we did not have all the dual final radios like we do today.

Thanx for the reply Hotwire, appreciate it, i havent had many tube amps and have found very little info on that amp,i got the schematic from electronics along with the operating instructions but it didnt say much in regards to output power, i guess for an 8 tuber the tubes are working as they should, thanx again brother.
