Ok I know that I am a year or two late (story of my life ) but I have been looking around and got to thinking about the MURS radios. I know that they are 5 channels VHF and license free, but I was looking for something better for the family than those FRS radios. I found a radio that was prefect for what I wanted Maxon TruTalk-25 but as I got ready to do a purchase I saw that they had been discontinued (apparently for sometime now) . I'm really quick on things like that ... Can anyone tell me where I might find something similar or even a place that might have that model radio used/refurbished? I have looked on ebay but found that there are a bunch of handhelds that when you type in MURS radios you get radios made in and shipped from China. I know that is where 96% are made but the shipping is killer and are they going to perform like I want them to and I don't want to do anything illegal. Can someone/anyone point me in the right direction? I just wished that Copper sold these then I wouldn’t have any worries. well anyway I do appreciate any help I can get. Thanks Much!!
