Will someone tell me about my friends D&A Maverick 250 he just bought? I believe it has (four) 6JG6a tubes and (four)6MJ6 tubes in it.

He bought it from a CB shop that showed him "on their meter" with my friends own radio (Cobra 29) and the amp they deadkeyed 300W and swung to 700W----with a peak reading of 900W. I'm not familiar with any D&A amps to begin with, and when I added the tube values up I came up with around 200W or so.

I'd read online on a vintage amp page that D&A rated the Maverick for 250W AM and 700W SSB. I've read on forum post archives most claim this amp to be in the 500W range AM.

Can someone tell me the Maverick's TRUE output numbers in "stock" condition???

Anything else about it??
