I know that alot of peolpe have asked alot of questions on this radio but I am idiot and need specific instructions please. I have a Ranger RCI 2950 not the DX with the EPT295013Z board and I would like to know exactly how to get talk back and higher AM modulation out of this radio. Also I have a Midland 5001Z Radio and I am also looking to do the same to this one as I want to do to the Ranger please help me out guys like I said I am an idiot when it comes to knowing where to do the mods but damn good with electronics with the right specific instructions. If it was me I would just go get a good preamp mike ... there are mods for this radio where they work who knows.

If you look to the left of the screen under "tools" you will see modification list. Click on it and find your radio. It will tell which VR is modulation or perhaps a limiter to clip.
I do agree with Bruce. Please try a power mic on the 2950 first. The audio of so many 2950's has been ruined by making internal adjustments or by clipping and modifications done by the novice.
