Hi all, first let me say that I'm a dial up connection so searching the internet isn't too easy. That said I've been looking for the correct mod to tie the TX and RX together for SSB use, which is mostly where I talk. The 2000 I have is completely stock and was manufactured in the Philippines in 1991. I keep finding conflicting info, so can someone with the correct mod point me in the right direction?? It would be most appreciated indeed. Any other comments / suggestions. Thanks for reading. Sandbagger 106

Hi Sandbagger106
In my experience it is pointless doing a clarifier mod which makes the radio track TX with RX as it has got a big drawback , as you know when using SSB you need to clarify others most of the time , well if you got TX tied to RX every time you try to clarify someone you will then be off frequency to them which means they have to clarify your signal NOW comes the bad point , if they have got same mod done then every time they clarify you they are off freq to you again thus starting a viscious circle , in simple terms DON'T tie TX and RX get a tech to fit a dual trimpot using inner knob for RX and outer for TX like the export radios or an extra trimpot on the radio somewhere to control TX shift only . Just my honest opinion
