Anyone know how to fix a very scratchy receive on a cobra 2000? It's almost like the sounds you get when running a mobile cb with the alternator noise. I'll look into this more but just thought I'd ask around a bit first! Thanks!

Well after looking into this issue from previous post. I noticed that the receive is still a little scratchy. Tried a different mic and still had the same problem. Unplugged the coax and it's still there. Also, unplugged both mic and coax and the meter is still jumping around a little like there's constant skip coming in about 5 on the meter. Not sure. Could this be a dirty pot somewhere on the receive end?

Well looking into this even more, I'm stumped. That scratchy alternator type noise that's coming through the speakers and meter goes away when I disconnect the small white rentangular 3 prong plug that runs the power to the frequency counter and clock. Quiet and silent and I can hear everything but when I plug that back in to supply power back to the clock and counter, boom, noisey and a constant up and down type surge. Can anyone help me out on this since I haven't seen any replies back on this post? Thanks a bunch!

To answer your original Question:
Anyone know how to fix a very scratchy receive on a cobra 2000?
Sorry, but I have never owned, used or worked on one before that I can remember.
And I have no information on the Cobra 2000 GTL other than what I have already posted or have read in the Copper Forum here over the year's from the Copper Forum Member's in the Modification List.
