I'm looking for a good, dependable, and great-sounding radio for my car. I'm not into echos and that stuff, but if the radio has it, fine... I'm wanting about 40 watts output AM or more, and would like to use my present DC cable from my battery which has a 5 amp fuse (for my VHF/UHF rig). Which of the two would be best for me? Is there a better one sold by Copper for under $250? I'm new to these types of rigs. Thanks much!

Trouble deciding between the Galaxy 3300 and Connex 3300, General Lee? They are actually pretty much the same radios inside if not totally identical. Galaxy has a new mosfet final version of the radio with a new look , blue lights. These radios are very dependable, well made and have excellent performance. Could possibly be the most popular most sought after AM/FM export radio ever! Overall performance cannot get any better for this class of radio in my opinion. If you buy one you made a wise purchase!
5 amp fuse? It may do the job but if you like to talk alot you really might want to upgrade to a 7 or 10 amp fuse.

I would go with the 55 hp. Has the big meter as well as the frequency display. But that's just my opinion. For the money they are great radios.

The only difference between the 33 and the 55 is that the 55 has the big Galaxy s-meter and a 5 digit freq display which to me has very little use on a radio without sideband.
I would still go with one of the 33's if standard AM CB is what you want, although you might be happier considering a radio with SSB capabilties instead. With the skip cycle on its way up worldwide 11 meter SSB is going to be very active soon!
