i've never experianced this so hopefully someone can help, there is a 1-2# increase in static level on my radio when i turn the power on the TV, doesnt seen to do it with any other household items, but i havent checked everything, the TV is a newer model and plugged into a grounded power strip and hooked to cable, there is wireless internet running off the cable with a router, dont know if this has anything to do with it, the radio is a eagle 2000, a99 ant on tower buried in the ground with a lightning arrestor and ground rod, transmits and recieves fine, just lots of noise when the tv is on. i was thinking of hooking a wire to the radio chassis and grounding that or buying some kind of tv filter, but i wanted to ask fisrt, thanks! some new tv's are dirty .... you might try a tvi filter ...... everything you listed has a chance of being involved but some of the new lcd tv and monitors i've seen do exactly what you are saying. I can hear my computer monitor on several hf bands i would not be suprised if your right ... On 6 since 66

i believe that solved the problem, theres a noticeable reduction when i alligator clip a ground to the radio, i'll do a perm ground system as i put my shack back up, also noticed a reduction when i took the power strip out of line on the tv, plugged directly into the wall it seems better, i wonder if there is a problem with the power strip, it is quite old, i'll be picking up a new one for sure. thanks! Plasma TV's are known to cause problems with radios. Even from the house next door. Never heard of the LCD TV's doing this. But anything's possiable. |
