A few questions on this, First what do I need to do to turn the ar3500 100 watt version down and to what level to operate with this amplifier. Second what kind of output should I expect? Any help will be happly taken! 73's

If you have a 100 watt radio why do you need a amp ?

Well ..... Thats as much power as I run on my ham station ....

To get one S unit you have to go to 400 Watts .... YEP BIG TOYS ........

Otherwise your right WHY NOT ? LOL

I think that you want to FRY your equipment. Feeding that much into that little Amp may just kill something.

I built a amp for 10 meter FM which I drove with my Alinco DR M03

Now it was almost the same as what he is talking about .... I built it to need 20 watts for full output of 350 watts and with the 03 driving it i got 325 .......

That was with 10 watts .....

Im just trying to match them up. I noticed that with the 3500 i can adjust it to 2 watt dead key and swing to 25+ is this too much for the amp? I can do 5 watt swing to 35. With just dead key alone I cant get the amp to do more than 200 225. wierd

My guess is you will cook the amp .....

I'm not tiring to discourage you but i have a bad feeling about doing this this way ....

turn the mic gain down if you want to lower 'swing' more.
open up the amp....how many of what transistors are in it??

That 3500 100 watt will be fine for a bigger amp that requires higher drive like an Ameritron, Dentron, Swan MKII ect ect. Dont even try it with a smaller low drive CB type amp as it will FRY it!
