I have a power supply, scope, watt meter, and a dummy load. All the basics for making minor adjustments and calibrations for my radios. I have been whistling and saying aaauuudddiiiooo and 111111111 into them to adjust for forward modulation. I would like to know how to do this by the book. All the service manuals I am reading say to send 30mv of a 1kHz tone into the radio. I am familiar with this because of my knowledge and career in the audio world. I have a tone generator on my computer. Can i play a 1k tone and use an alligator clip to send it to the right pin on the radios mic. jack? I would of course measure the voltage so I didnt blow anything up. Anyone have experience with this?
