trying to figure out why the radio on ssb gets reports of being nasselly and watery.have tried different mics including the stock and no luck.sent the radio back to ranger and they claim they fixed the problem just to plug it in and still doing the same thing.just trying to figure out if possibly its something i'm doing or if its the radio.they also claim they have alligned the radio on ssb when i'm being told that it sounds like that might just be the problem.hope someone can help with some suggestions. thanks.

Try using a Turner Plus 3 or Super Side Kick.

sometimes you need to hear it yourself to know what people are talking about. i know what a nasally sounding radio is, but not quite sure i know what a watery sounding radio is. not even sure you can sound nasally and watery at the same time......is the person telling you how you sound, well, um, that's why you may need to hear it for yourself. who did ranger have you send it to? had to be an authorized repair center....and i know in the past there were a few i wouldn't recommend sending anything to.
how does it sound on AM vs how it sounds on SSB? what does the onboard freq counter say when you tune to another station on SSB, a station with a decent radio that SHOULD be relatively close to on freq? are the clarifier & 'span' or whatever it's called 'in sync'-5th digit on a '5' and 6th digit on a '0', with the clarifier straight up?
i'd turn rf power down real low & mic gain to '9' even, and see if you can't get it to sound decent with low power, before cranking it up.....back to who repaired it, making sure THEY didn't crank it up internally.
even try several different stock/other mics. i'vs seen a box of a dozen stock ranger replacement mics ALL sound different on the same radio.
highly doubtful whatever repair center it went to actually tested it on the air with a reliable 'other person'. they probably just set everything to spec....either ranger, or theirs....and sent it on its way. doesn't mean it sounds good.
