I bought a Ranger RCI2985DX on eBay a few days ago. Upon inspection of the rig, I found that the roger beep does not work. The button beeps when I push it for the on/off position, and "R.BEEP" is displayed, but the darn thing doesn't "R.BEEP" at all. I can't find any broken or cut traces or wire anywhere. There are a few SMT resistors missing in various places. Can anyone tell me why the roger beep doesn't work, and how I can fix it? I have looked it up on the net, and there are mods done for talkback, auto-squelch and whatnot, all use one of the pushbutton switches on the pad. All of the pushbutton switches function as they should, except the roger beep switch. None of the above mentioned mods have been done, the roger beep simply does not work when the button is pushed in the on position. It may have been intentionally disabled, but I can't find it to reverse it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
