I have had the Stonewall since new (about 4 years)and just lately it has started to squeal and feedback especially when using a D104. The audio doesn't sound as clear as it used to using a stock mic also. I've always grounded the radio and mic without any problems. Antenna and all other equipment has not changed and is still good. Radio works great and sounds good when using the dummy load. Otherwise it sounds crappy. Only this radio has the issue. NONE of my other radios are having any issues. Just the Stonewall.
Like I stated this just recently started about a week ago and only happens when using the Stonewall.

try using a stock mic or turn down
mic gain to 12oclock then adjust the d104
for max audio.also check dead key if its
too low it may do this.also are you using
talkback?if so turn it off wont work
with a d104

Radio does not have talk back. I have tried adjusting mics and mic gain. I have tried many different mics and all of them do the same thing.
Like I said this radio has works great for the last four years and just recently has started this. Must be in the radio but I do not know where or what to look at as the cause of the radio starting to squeal all the time.

A lot can change in any radio system. I have a ground for my radio running it to a ground rod that was just for the radio only to the out side my radio room. It had helped me not have any stray rf and had fixed my mic problem. Not all problem's are the same for every person but that is my 2 cent's worth. Try it, it might solve your mic problem's. I hope it will help you as well. Have a nice day and happy new year.
