Which radios nowdays (or ever) have dual conversion recieve? Looking for a SSB radio with it, new or used.... also have any ever had triple conversion?

I believe the Cobra 148 still has a dual conversion receiver.

Not aware of any CB radios with triple conversion. However, some ham radios do have triple conversion. Although, be aware that some radios incorporating DSP are giving up multiple conversion process in favor of the DSP power. That is good and bad. Bad because DSP cannot fix poor image rejection.

How many seperate I.F. stages the receiver has. Each stage, the signal is mixed with a different I.F. frequency.

And, if none of that sinks in, just imagine that each I.F. stage performs the task of narrowing the passband and improves the rejection of unwanted off-frequency out of band signals.
