It is said that this radio will do 150 to 2 watt's HOW CAN A 8.5 AMP POWER SUPPLY IN THE RADIO POWER UP TO 150 WATT'S??????? I DO NOT THINK IT CAN. I THINK THERE IS A MISPRINT. THIS RADIO IS SUPPOSE TO REPLACE THE 2985DX WHICH IS A LOW POWER RADIO. NOW I HAD ASK THIS QUESTION BEFORE BUT FOR SOME REASON IT NEVER SEEN THE POST. |

IT can't. Even at 100% efficiency 8.5 A x 13.8V = 117W. Another great example of "truth" in advertising Tech237 N7AUS God only made some many perfect head, on the rest he put hair.

i think the radio is only 25-50 watts .cause like you said it replaced the 2980/2985 which WASNT a 100 watt radio so probaly is a misprint on the wattage dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64

When rci sent me an e-mail a couple of week's ago they had said it would be low power as the 2985dx which is 20 to 25 watt's on am and 30 to 35 watt's on ssb. It had first been said that this had been a touch screen but that to had been a mistake and had been corrected as well. I PERSONALLY THINK THIS (RHF-618 ) WILL BE A TOP OF THE LINE RADIO AS THE OTHER DX RADIO'S ARE AND COPPER IS THE BEST ON PRICE THAT I HAVE SEEN SO FAR. Another good feature is the active frequency counter that is 8 digit and it can operate with PSK 31. GREAT JOB RCI |

Thanks guys for the heads up. I'm not sure where we got the description from but I've changed it. I haven't gotten an official description from Ranger so this will have to suffice until they issue a better one. Forummaster CEF001 CVC001

I HAVE RECEIVED INFORMATION FROM RANGER AND THIS IS ONLY A 25 WATT RADIO WITH PSK 31 AND A TOUCH SCREEN. MUCH MORE THAN JUST A 2950DX RADIO IN A BOX. REMEMBER, RANGER SENT ME THIS INFORMATION AND IT IS A TOUCH SCREEN AND ONLY 25 WATT RADIO. RANGER ASK ME WHERE IT HAD BEEN SAID THAT IT WAS A 150 WATT RADIO BECAUSE IT IS NOT. |
