I need some help with identifying what version of this amp I have. I have looked on the web but all I find are totally different board layouts than the one that I have. Does anyone have any information or a schematic for this amp? I sure could use some help here. Thanks.
Dave

Try www.cbtrix.com/amp/pride/dx300/graphics/pride_dx300
ther is an underscore between pride and dx300
(pride_dx300)

It has full schematic and user book w/parts list and #'s to call for tech info
hope this helps

Hi Bill,
That website only has adds, nothing about pride dx 300. I went to cbtricks.com, and they only have the newer version information there. Thanks for trying to help me, 73.

Hi Guys, Speaking of pride Amps. I have a pride Earthquake 200 with some problems, first of is that the low setting don`t work, and it sends the SWR through the roof, secondly the only setting that works halfway right is the Med. setting. having low, med,hi,and max would have been a dream but , I got it this way,,sorry now but is there anything I can do to fix it other than sending it to the shop?

it too hard or just maxing it out.tell us about
how drive u put in it. did u try ssb if so how
did it go?far as swr increase some amps do this
i dont know/understand why .my palamr i use theres
very little difference between the 3 settings
but the biggest difference is between low and high so i olnly use those too instead of the 3 it has

also when you chamge power levels then you MUST
re-calibrate your swr meter.

I believe it has a pair of sd1446 transistors and definitely needs low input. Those are rated at 70 watts each. I've seen several of the older amps over the years that would just have decent SWR on one speed, never knew why that was. If that amp has a rotary switch for the different settings, some of those had resistors on the back of the switch that regulated the output of each setting. You might check to see if it has those resistors and if any of them are burned out or loose. If it runs decent on medium might just run it on that one. Probably wouldn't tell any difference on the other end from Med to high anyway. Good luck with your amp.

ok this is a solid state unit, the low setting on AM after setting the SWR meter sends the SWR soring, all the rest med, hi, and max don't do that. I reset swr meter in each setting before testing them. I have tried it on ssb but not the low setting as I am scared of what it might do to my radio finals. I wonder ware I might get a schematic on this unit? On max ssb I get 150w. on med. I get 90 or so . not going to try Low. Driving the unit with 3 1/2 to 4 watts. it should be able to handle that don`t you think? opon looking inside I`m not too pleased as to what I see, uch it`s a mess.

Thanks everyone for your input on this matter. It was very helpful. I did go inside and you are right about the SD1446 transistors. I did look at the rotary switch and found one loose. also found 2 of the LED,s with one unsoldered.re attatched them but they don't come on.they do work however cause when I went to test voltage they lit up, I think they are 12v led,s and voltage is 19vdc,too much huh, well going to leave them out for now. again thanks for all of the help. jtinwtn

I have a pride, and run it on medium all the time, and the input is at 1 1/2 watts and it peaks at 90 watts on am and ssb, it is old maybe 20 years but putts along, not over driving it.

I've had several of those little base amps and the power supply voltage generally runs from 17-19 volts idling but drops back some when keyed up. Those LEDs must not be getting connection, if 12 volt they would burn real bright for a short time.;) I used this little solid state 200 for a good while, a friend is still using it. I think it might have been made by Gray.

3-4 watt deadkey sounds a little much for that
amp. if possible try 1 or 2 watts MAX. and 12 -15
watts MAX on ssb .1446 is very low drive
