I would like to know how to increase the range of my clarifier on my 959. I whathed a you-tube video that demonstrated a 10khz slide each way on a 959 and he said he put a 4.7 uh inducter on the banded end of D49. I don't need 10khz slide in mine, but I would like to have more range than the clarifier range mod on cbtricks shows. The radio is a Galaxy 959 with 1969 final, made Aug. 2002. It has had the P5 & P6 mod, diode in place of R238, echo board, 10khz mod, and recieve mod done to it. I really like this radio and my only gripe is the clarifier plus I'm trying to move my add on's so they're not seen and now's a great time to make a clarifier mod while it's not in my car. I don't want to unlock it, just get more range. What would be a good way to accomplish my goal for this radio?

Hey White knite; How much range did the CbTricks mod give? There are two mods listed and I've wondered about the range of each.

I only saw one range increase, and that was to change R153 to 12K ohms from a 2.7K ohm. the other mod for the clarifier is two ways to unlock the clarifier, I didn't do that one. I didn't have a 12K so I used a 15K one and it seems to be giving me what I was wanting so far, that is not being quite so sensitive and being more fine tune like. I'll need to get me a 6 digit frequency counter so I can see how much range I have now as my 5 digit one on the radio just can't show me that.
