is this not a good mic for a sears roadtalker 40 ssb model 934 38270700 ?
i had it wired right and it didnt want to drive the radio unless i was right up next to it and didnt show much modulation at all on the meter from 2 ft. away.
maybe something is wrong with the amp. in it?

The original microphone elements go weak with age.

If you want to use it for SSB you might want to try to catch one of the 10dal "Bullet" heads on E-bay.

There is supposed to be a "suitable" replacement cartridge available from Mouser But I don't recall the part number.
