What is the tuned output a Galaxy 2547 capable of both AM and SSB?
Was curious about this because it seems like a solid unit.

Mine is tuned to about 18 ssb and about 8 am. But that is all I wanted.

These radios are built to be loud and only need minor adjustments if any.

Set VR14 for a 4 watt deadkey. You can do more, but why? No one will notice and it will just heat the radio up more.

Set the RF power knob all the way down and set VR18 for 1.5 or 2 watts.

Set VR16 (AMC) saying "ahhh" for 98-100 % mod.

Set VR13 (SSB ALC) for 12 watts, 12 watts works just fine, no one will see or hear any extra watts and the radio will run cooler if you don't push the driver and final.

These are very capable radios if not over tuned.
If you just have to have more, get a 25-50 watt amp.

Well I know Copper tunes them too. I was wondering how accurate the meter on the radio is to what spec copper tunes them to.

the meter on the radio usually is just a ballpark
figure. better off using a external watt meter.
the newer mosfet version will do 25-30 watts easily
on ssb.

So I highly doubt this radio will do a 12 watt DK on AM.

If it did a 12 watt DK I personally do not think this radio would be long for this world. I would never turn mine up this far, even if I could.

It was said 12 DK, not pep. I know what the radios will do because I have owned one since they first came out and like I said, I have mine set for 2 watt dk on am and it swings to about 8 and it swings to about 18 watts on ssb. If you do not have one or ever had one you can not say what they will do.

Harve: Who said they would do 12 watts DK. I don't see it in this thread. Pressman did say to set SSB at 12 watts.
