not sure what you are asking here. are you wanting to add more channels or are you having a problem with all channels locking on freq. I have a 959 and a ranger tr696fd1 which is the same radio and do not have a problem with any of the channels locking on. I have done numerous other radios and never had to broadband them since it locks on no problem. this is the 69610z boards. now some other older radios you have to broad band but not this one.
exactly what are you wanting to do.

i was doing this because i thought broadbanding gave the radio the same,or close to,the same power output no matter where you are, meaning wether you are at 26.695 or at 27.965.

some radios need this like I said on my last post. I have never had to do that to this radio. so no broadbanding out there that I have ever seen all the way from 2001 since I have been doing this.cobra 148's and such radios need help some times for this but not all of them.putting a channel kit in the old cobra 29's needed a diode change to make them broad band enough. about 2005 they changed the diode at the factory on some and you did not need it any more. it came in the A+ kits for the 29's. 858 PLL units had to be broad banded to take the extra channels.
just kind of a quick over view of the radio needs. just adjusting the 959 through a alignment normally takes care of that radio if you know what you are doing.
hope this helps to explain what you were asking
have a good day

here is a sight that has the service manual and the channel mods schematics for this radio if you are not aware of it.
