I don't know why I can't figure this out.

I would like to add an led with resistor in the meter to light up when the radio is keyed.
I don't know if you can post links here to utube videos, but there is one there and I have seen a radio in a truck that does it.
I tested with my DVM at the back of the transmit/receive light and at the audio pin on the mic jack and can't get it to light.
Has anyone done this mod,or could help me out as to where to get power for it from?
