I have a R.C.I.2950Dx I need help to open the modulation up.It has the 5014-B Board in it .
Mabenot removing a Transister .But ? |

never remove modulation limiters,or disable them
in ssb mode tune L34,L35,L37 for max power
in am mode tune VR 17for max foreward swing
use a dummyload ,pep meter,and radio to do this
no other external equiment once all this is done
PROPERLY if ya want more then you,ll have to get
a power mic

The newer 2950 dx with the black display does not really need a power mic once the modulation is turned up with the variable adjustment inside the radio. You can get over a 100% modulation with this adjustment and then some. It is best to have your radio dead key two to three watt's and let it swing to full power. I use my radio with the stock mic it came with and every person I made contact with thought I had a power mic already on the radio. Remember too much modulation is worse than not enough. Always go for clean, clear, and good tone quality modulation. The rci dx series radio like the 2985dx, 2990dx, 2995dx, 2950dx, 2970dx, 2970n2 radio is the next thing best thing to a ham radio. I have found no better radio in this class yet. Do not remove any limiter. Dale is right. It will make your radio sound like junk. |
