I have a connex 4300HP and I cant get the dead key power below 10 or 15 watts. If I turn the variable down then it will not have any dead key.Adjusting VR13 or VR16 does same thingThis is a weird issue I have never ran in to.I have checked the entire Variable Power circuit not finding anything wrong.I believe it may in the transmitter section.I cant set the dead key no lower than 15 or so watts. The variable power switch has been replaced with same results. The voltage is being adjusted correctly but cant set key power to 3 or 5 watts.Radio will swing full power.Have also replaced VR13 and VR16.Still does the same thing.Anybody have any suggestions?

tune your high dead key down first
with rf knob at max
next tune your low dead key second
but now turn rf knob all way to the right

I've tried that.Doesnt work either. This radio apparently has an issue I cant locate.Sometimes during trying to set the key it starts to squeal on bit on audio.I haven't had time to get back to it yet but i'm gonna check a few more things.
