Just remember, there is no such thing as Extra Channels. If you get caught freebanding - you risk any chance you might have had at getting an amateur radio license somewhere down the road. Most of the frequencies are occupied by the government or utility companies and can be heard for many miles beyond your location When using signal side band. The so called channels in between the channels were designated for things like model airplane control, garage door openers etc.. When working AM it really doesn't matter anyways because some of those guys are 3 or 4 channels wide with their signal...
