I have a maco 300 & I can't get it to do more than 475 watts. When I bought it I seen it do 725 on my buddy's antenna setup (our radios are basically the same, 2517,2527) I have even put even hotter tubes in it than it had to. My two drivers are a matched set at 80% & all five finals are 90%+. I was told I had an antenna impedence issue due to my swr being so flat.( needle wouldn't even move off of 1.1 at all even w box on) so I adjusted the rings on my a-99 to bring the swr up to a 1.3 with the box on & it's still only doing 475 watts. I am told now that maybe the dead key match on back of box may have the disks stuck on it, do you guys have any ideas of what could be causing this?

If you can catch Sanoma on the forum, he may be able to answer your quarry.

different meter may read different, if ya only got
a rms meter then no ya wont see the full output.
i heard before about swrs that are too low.
not sure bout that. but if ya do have impedence
mismatch then that might be a problem. your best
bet is borrow or buy a mfj 259b anylizer . it will
show impedence and reactance . something any swr meter wont tell u. tune antenna so the reactance
reads x=0 on center of band or where ya mostly
talk. u wont see on all channels though.
