This is what I have done and if it is incorrect or if it can be done better please help me. At the bottom of my antenna mast I have a ground rod that is connected to the shield. Now going out from this ground rod going in all direction's nine foot away I have six other ground rod's that are connected to the one in the center. So is this the best and correct way of doing this or should this be going out more? By the way these are copper ground rod's and the connecting cable is buried. |

One ground rod is fine, more doesn't hurt anything.
Ground rods are for lightning protection.
Ground radials are for RF to ground coupling.
If you ran wires out along the ground, or just under the surface, away from your mast, those are radials.

Thank you 833, I did run them close to the surface of the ground because the earth is very rocky and has a lot of tree root's. Once again I thank you for your help. |
