i just bought a new 2995 from Copper, great rig! when I transmit on more than half power the freq counter starts to flicker and the numbers jump around a bit. Is this something to be concerned about?

Also the unit only does 50 watts max on AM and SSB. I thought they peaked at about 150 watts. Just looking for an opinion, I've had the unit a week now. thanks, 382

Sounds like you have something going on tith either:

A- SWR is high
B- RF is getting back into the radio through the power or mic cord
C- Needs to be grounded better

I have a 2995DX that has been on the air continuously for almost 10 years. Excellent rigs.
Your radio 'Mythbuster' since 1998

I would check the power supply. It could be that it is not giving you the amps needed for full power. Check your DC Voltage before key up , during key up and while you try to modulate.
