i recently had my deltaforce opened up . when i went to put cover back itslightly slipped outta my hands and the spaker hit the echeo board screwed to the side of radio. well when it did i smelled smoke. now radio has no power wont light up . did i blow it up? or the protection diodide

IT's hard to say with having it in front of me. Do you have a multi-meter?? if so start checking voltages. Do we have 12VDC at the pcb side of the power connector?, Do we have it on the power switch. Follow the voltage and see where we lose it.

Did you check the fuse?

What happens if you disconnect the Echo board?

Protection Diodes are usually installed in such a way that they short out and blow the fuse if the radio is connected up to the wrong polarity. I, personally (and I can be wrong), cannot see what you did actually blowing the diode.

Dale my friend if you are lucky it will be the diode on the back where the power come in. I pray you are lucky. It is nothing to replace or bypass to do a quick check just make sure nothing slips. Or you can check the diode with an ohms meter. The diode will only read in one direction. I have made mistakes like that as well. Be tired or in a hurry then OOPPS.

tech 237 i did the the fuse. it did blow the fuse that was in it. i replaced it with a new one and still have no power. sorry tech 237 i didnt go poking around cause my hands arent really steady anymore .
