I was getting ready to put a new final in my 200gtl dx and it pulled the solder pad up on the far right pad looking from the back of the radio.. I cut a new pad from a old board I had but what's it need hooked to?? Any help would be appreciated!!! |

Your question confuses me. Normally, if someone tears a copper trace off a board, the easiest solution would be to patch it with a short piece of wire soldered in its place.
What do you mean you "cut a new pad"? Does that mean you are attempting to replace an entire chunk of the board with a chunk cut from a different one? And if you tore the trace/pad off the board, surely between the visible damage and looking at the other radio you should be able to tell how everything was connected.. Got a picture of the damage? |

See 3rd comment and use a small piece 0f copper wire to bridge.
Also put that soldering iron in the drawer and keep it there. Remember your grandfathers old soldering iron was not meant for circuit boards of today. buy a new soldering iron (it does not have to be expensive) that was designed to be used on cramped circuit boards of today. You will forever thank yourself. |

Yes I'll take a picture.. I cut and pulled a trace off a old motherboard I had laying around.. on the cobra 200 gtl dx I glued that trace down but there was nothing but bare board.. so when I replace the final that leg goes nowhere. |
