I done the the negative peak compression mod for the vr 9000 (from the subcriber preview section)
on my galaxy saturn base with the 360011B board in it. with pleasing results. i now have a 2 watt dead key with a 20 watt swing with a good helllloo! and reports say it is loud and clear. although i was hoping for a little more than 20 watts on the high swing. IS AROUND 20 WATT SWING NORMAL FOR THE SATURN BASE OR HAVE I MISSED SOMETHING. I SEE IN THE FORUM HERE A FEW PEOPLE CLAIM AROUND 35 WATTS WITH THIS MOD IN THE VR9000 I KNOW MY SATURN IS NOT A VR9000. BUT IT IS A DUAL FINAL RADIO. WITH A SIMULAR BOARD IN IT ANY IMPUT ON THIS WOULD BE APRECIATED. FROM THE TECHS OR ANYONE ELSE. THANKS JESSE

if its single final then maybe 25 watts is it, the 20 you have is not fine with dual finals, you should get some more. see if 307 will work on it

Hello.
Did the mod on my older model 2980 (which is a saturn) and i got about anywere between 35 and 45 average with normal voice and and 50 watts PEP with a tone on my meter.. Mines a dosy so you know what they show but oh well, it works for me i know im no tech.
But however, the mods DO work well!!!!
