Squeal from Talkback? The way to "set" the D-104 is to just "crack" it open as far as adjustment. Anymore , it will squeal like a pig using talkback!!! |

No, i'm not using the talkback...I have someone on the air...but I can hear the squeal anyway...I have tried every combination of settings...as soon as either the mic or radio gain control is up enough to start seeing a little audio coming in, the squeal is right there and takes over, drowning out any semblance of my voice....there is more to this story, though....I bought the Fentone 500c 'tokyo rose' dual crystal element mic head from an outfit in canada...it mounts on the tup9 stand, but you have to remove the little 3 pin receptacle in the stand and wire the head to the two leads going through the stand...There is a possibility that the head was damaged in shipping and is DOA...I am going to try restoring my stand and put the 10da head back on it and see if everything works ok....if it does, head is maybe at fault. If it doesn't, then I know we have hosed something in the stand somehow.. Just in case anyone reading this forum was thinking about getting one of these Fentone heads...I'll warn you....I have emailed the guy I bought it from, and he is not willing to do anything except have me ship the head back to him to test it...If it is DOA, he will replace it, but he keeps insisting that it be absolutely blemish free and in perfect condition...Unfortunately, It did not arrive "completely" blemish free---it is near-perfect, but down at the bottom, if one looks closely, there are a couple of tiny blemishes on the threads where it meets up with the stand...I'm afraid that he will claim that I caused that (didn't) and he will refuse to do anything but send it back as is at my expense. Anyone have any luck with the Astatic 1104c microphone? I'm thinking about trying that one for this 2517...This d104 thing has become a very expensive fiasco. |
